Lazard Pan-European Equity: Qual. Rating Updated
Our high opinion of Lazard Pan-European Equity hasn’t changed.
"Aaron Barnfather joined Lazard in 2008 and replaced Gabrielle Boyle as lead manager on this offering. At our last review we thought he was an extremely worthy successor, and our view is unchanged. Barnfather was director of European equities at BNY Mellon Newton and while there he built impressive risk/return profiles on a number of funds. Further, although there are some key differences, both Newton and Lazard use a team-based approach to portfolio management and boast extensive analytical resources, so the environment is a reasonably familiar one to Barnfather. Boyle remains involved in the European team debates, but Barnfather is also supported by manager Barnaby Wilson and an additional analyst. Wilson previously worked in the analyst team; we think this is valuable because he is familiar with their approach and capabilities."
