"Douglas Brodie took the helm of this fund from Iain McCombie in Nov. 2007. He had been a small-cap analyst under McCombie for seven years; he also has research support in Kate Speakman (she has been at the firm for six years) and two less experienced analysts. Brodie and Speakman are familiar with the house process and its application to UK small caps but it’s a concern that Brodie has never managed a fund before and that the small-cap team lost seasoned campaigner McCombie (he has switched his focus to larger-cap UK equities and now runs the Baillie Gifford British 350 fund)..."
