BlackRock Global Equity: Qual. Rating Issued

Without doubt, the makeover on BlackRock Global Equity has been to the benefit of investors.

We have published a new Morningstar Qualitative Rating and Research Reportfor BlackRock Global Equity.

"In recent years this fund has undergone something of a transformation. In mid 2007 it moved from the very pedestrian “global titans” strategy to a broader global equity process that is better able to take advantage of BlackRock’s core competencies. Global Titans aimed to invest in the biggest companies in the global marketplace; however, given these names are among the most researched, we believe it diluted one of BlackRock’s competitive advantages – the strength of their global research staff. Since the changes in management in June 07 the fund has broadened its remit to those companies within the MSCI World Index who have market caps greater than $2bn, giving the new team a universe of around 2000 stocks to play with. It’s also good to see turnover on the team has settled down – another problem in the past..."
